Large and giant breeds (over 50 lbs): Considered seniors around 5 to 6 years old because their bodies age faster and they have a shorter overall lifespan.
Medium breeds (21 to 50 lbs): Reach senior status around 7 years old.
Small and toy breeds (under 20 lbs): Do not enter their senior phase until 9 to 10 years old, as their biological aging process moves at a much slower rate.
